Flip Manis: The Nail Art Trend That's Set To Sky-Rocket

Image
Nail art isn't exactly a new concept but we have to admit that we didn't see this talon-trend coming. Not by a long shot... Not content with merely adoring the top of their nails, the world's hottest manicurists have started bejeweling, painting and doodling on the under-side of their nails too, coining it as a 'flip mani', and we reckon it's about to go stellar. It all kick-started when songstress Ciara showed off her flip mani on Instagram and since then it's been big news on the nail art circuit, taking the LA manicure-set by storm. Yes, it might sound bizarre but as these shots prove, when they're done right, they can have seriously cool results. If you're a lover of kooky nails and bright polishes, then you'll be well versed in the fact that they're not exactly work-appropriate. However, because no-one can directly see your flip mani unless you really want them to, it'll give you the perfect arty fix minus any funny lo

MAC Does The Time Warp

WHAT could be more fabulous, outlandish and utterly brilliant than The Rocky Horror Picture Show for MAC to pay tribute to with its latest limited-edition make-up collection? The brand will launch a 21-piece range dedicated to the cult movie on September 29, displayed in black and red packaging featuring the signature Rocky Horror logo. "The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a cult classic about transformation, diversity, individuality and fantasy; all elements that are a part of MAC's DNA," said James Gager, MAC's senior vice president and creative director. "The collection was inspired by the strong make-up looks of the film characters. It will be out just in time for Halloween, one of MAC's favourite holidays." There will be glitter, there will be dramatic colour and there will be blood-red lipstick in the style of the transsexual from Transylvania himself, Dr. Frank N. Furter.

The Do’s and Don’ts of Pulling off the Latest Nail Art Trends

When the nail art craze first came back on the scene a few years ago, to say I was resistant to it would be an understatement.  Images of Sheneneh from the 90s TV show “Martin” flashed through my mind. But today’s nail art doesn’t have to be flashy or look like it belongs on the 15-year-old version of you. Nail art can take you from the office to cocktail hour, but here are some important do’s and don’ts of how to wear it: Don’t keep nails too long.  Nails that are too long with busy patterns tend to be too distracting and over powering. Do keep nails short in a round or square shape, or mid-length in an almond or oval shape. Don’t go overboard with too many different colors. Do use a neutral base color and a brighter or contrasting color as an accent Don’t heavily decorate every nail. Do an ornate accent nail on each hand Don’t use faces, phrases, or cartoon characters on your nails Do play with geometric patterns such as triangles, stripes, and circles Do play

Gray Gardens Olivia Wilde's piercing light eyes are perhaps her most distinguishing feature. While her eye color is actually a blue-green, when encircled with this gorgeous copper shadow, the shade became even more inte
